Hi there, I’m Emma

Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Paris, France.

Several years ago I moved here with my family, and what began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Began

Moving to France wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.

The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.

The Adjustment Phase

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.

Why I Created Warm Meadow Byte

Most online content was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.

This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in France.

What this site covers (and what it does not)

This site OFFERS:

  • Real-world experience from living in France
  • Centered on family life and everyday realities
  • Updated whenever something truly changes

This site DOES NOT:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored review platform
  • Not just a generic travel blog

Moving Forward

Our stay in France goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we find.

If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Best regards,

Emma
